Field Methods is a site devoted to scientific methods applied in the field (or natural environment), as opposed to experiments held in the laboratory.  Field research has  common elements, such as random sampling, gathering of data and analysis of data.  Field research is conducted across various disciplines of natural and social sciences, such as  anthropology, sociology, biology, geology, archaeology, economics, geophysics and more.
